Potted Plant (Fake Shadow)
For this edit, I used a picture of a plant inside my home. The leaves kind of remind me of coral or some sea plant and I like how the "shadow" kind of looks like a pineapple. My home also has many plants and flowers in every room so I felt this was a representation of my family/house. I didn't have many difficulties with this edit, but I did go into it expected to create something much different. I thought we would be creating the shadow of another image and not using a white background. However, this didn't really affect the photo and it was easier than I expected.
Upside Down (Fake Reflection)
The photo I used for this edit is of San Juan, Puerto Rico, where I went for spring break. I chose this picture because I liked how it showed both buildings and grass and I also hold very good memories from the trip. Just looking at this photo I remember the wind, sun, and perfect warm temperature in San Juan. The day I took this photo was spent people watching from a hill and was very enjoyable. In Photoshop, this was pretty hard to edit. It ended up looking decent, except I couldn't get the waviness of the reflection to look like I wanted it to. I think it looks more like a reflection in a still puddle, not an ocean with waves. I am proud of myself for more or less figuring out how to edit this without much help from the teacher.
